This is an easier craft than it seems. Historically, the Witches' Ladder holds a lot of positive energy, and made with good intention can serve as a reminder for healing, protection or prosperity. You will craft a Witches' Ladder for one partner in whichever tradition you chose with whichever artistic skills you have. (Not paper so it can hang outdoors). Prayer ties, like the Witches' Ladders are made in every culture for many intentions. They do not have to be made with feathers. They can be simple ribbons with words written on them and tied together in a bundle; bundles of rainbow colors on one string filled with offerings; or even as small flags. They can be a series of knots to hold your intentions. This is not meant to co-opt any Native American practices using tobacco. Here is a site that gives the history of the "Witches' Ladder": http://paganwiccan.about.com/od/bookofshadows/ht/WitchsLadder.htm The use of color may be specific to your intention. If you add herbs, be sure to check your partner's profile for allergies. And remember household pets can have a reaction to herbs too should they happen to find and chew on the piece. If you have questions, please message me. |
