New Mail Art Technique #3: Faux Watercolor Rainbow Effect Welcome to round 3 of trying and learning a new mail art technique. I saw this technique and fell in love with it! It's so easy and so fun! For this round you'll be learning how to create a faux water color rainbow effect. You will need the following supplies:
I don't have a video tutorial for this, but it's fairly easy to explain and see how it works from the picture. 1) Use your markers to draw and color in a design of your choice. Hearts were used in the example picture. 2) Dip your paintbrush into the water and gently place it on your design pulling outward, dragging the color as you go. Repeat this process until you have a completed watercolor rainbow effect. Note:You don't have to make a watercolor rainbow effect. If you just want to use shades of blue and green or just shades of blue that's perfectly fine. You can use whatever color combination you want to. You can draw your design along the top, bottom or left side of the postcard. It's entirely up to you. Be creative and have fun! You can decorate the rest of the postcard how you'd like. Use stamps, paint, glitter, stencils, watercolor pencils or markers, collage, gel pens, paint pens, etc. Put your best effort into it. Make something you'd be proud to send and receive. You must have a 4.98, 15 type 3 swaps completed and rated and no 1's or 3's in the last six months. I reserve the right to ban anyone who doesn't meet the requirements and anyone I deem iffy or a potential problem swapper. If you have any questions about the technique or the swap feel free to PM. |
