Have you seen these????

I am obsessed with Pocket Letters and thought it would be fun to do a washi pocket love letter swap!!! What are pocket letters? The idea for pocket letters came from Janette Lane's Blog They are lots of fun sent in a 9-pocket clear plastic page like the ones that are use for collectable cards, coupon organization or ATC storage. Instead of collecting things in them you're making a page full of wonderfulness! When it's done, you fold it in thirds, put it in a business size envelope and mail it off! Two of my current obsessions in one envelope - I can't stand it :) And all this fun can be in you and your partner's mailboxes for only 70 -91 cents postage!

So here is what you will do for this swap:

Find a pocket page - these are the 9 pocket 8 1/2" x 11" plastic sheets that store collectable cards, ATC, coupons. Look around, ask the kids, friends, neighbors someone has at least one you can beg or borrow. Or if you think this idea is the best thing you have ever wanted to do you can buy them at Walmart, Target, Office Depot/Max, Staples, some $ Type Stores

Fill the pockets! In no particular order your 9 pockets will be filled with:

  • A letter from you - talk about anything you want..washi tales welcome, just keep it clean and legal.

  • Something to drink - tea (commercially wrapped only), VIA type coffee packet, water sachet (crystal light or similar)...cocoa is fine but it will make the letter thicker and increase postage cost.

  • Make an ATC or mini card with envelope - you can do it, washi makes it easy!!! Make sure you sign the back of your little piece of art.

  • Washi stickers like these or take all your little bits and pieces of washi and make a mosaic that is then punched or cut into shapes and can be glued on. At least 6 - 1" stickers please.

  • Washi fun - create something small and flat using washi. Pinterest has a million ideas like---magnets, paperclips/page flags, bookmark, mini banner, gift tags, feathers (these are fun!), or any other ideas that you think of (please share in comments!)

  • Washi Swap Supplies to help carry on the safe and fun swapping of washi! Fun or interesting playing cards, mailing labels, return address labels, ugly cards covered in fun packing tape, deco or $ Store tape for envelope decorating, unused postage, mail art stickers, small bags/ATC sleeves/envelopes, etc.

  • WASHI of course!!! Fill 3 pockets with wash tape samples. Each pocket should have one card with 4 - 14" samples. 12 samples total. Senders choice of course.

Decorate the pockets with a little something. We all have a stash of paper goodies that we wont admit to - dig into it! There are a ton of videos on Youtube to further explain the concept and show examples. Search on Google or Pinterest for inspiration. There is no right or wrong...the only requirement - fill all 9 pockets! Amount of decoration is up to sender.

All pocket fillers are senders choice but you might want to peek at profiles for the tea/coffee/drink choice.

Fold up the pocket letter and place in a business size 10 envelope. Decorate the outside with a bit of washi and mail!

If you have any questions or comments please message me or post in the comments.

As always I reserve the right to ban anyone I do not feel will be a good fit to this swap. If by some way a flaker sneaks in I will angel after a one (1) rating is given.

Let's Swap Washi!!!

@flowerchild this sounds super fun and I've been wanting to jump in an try these. I've been watching YouTube pocket letter videos like mad. I'm sure once I get one done, I'll be ready for more. It's just there are so many ideas for the pockets. But, I like how you have given details instructions on what we are to include.
