Have you heard of Pocket Letters? They were created by Janette Lane and are so much fun! I recently made my first one and thought it would be a fun thing to do as part of Carpe Librum. Pocket Letter Info from creator Janette Lane Here is a link to Janette Lane's Youtube channel where she has TONS of awesome videos describing and showing how to make/decorate pocket letters. There is also links to her blog if you'd rather see it there. You can also see a lot of examples on Pinterest. Pocket Letters A pocket letter is like an embellished letter that is put into a page of the 9 pocket trading card holder pages. Each pocket has a different element in it. How to Make a Pocket Letter by Janette Lane Things you can put in the pockets - A letter/note to your partner <--- Needs to be included!
- How you decorate the actual PL is up to you, however lets make it fit into the theme of books/reading etc. I just mailed one this week and it only cost $2.32 (Mine was a little thick because of an accent I had placed in it). The swap Graphic is the Snow White Themed pocket letter I recently made. **Please put nice paper on the "back" side of the pockets also, the back doesn't have to be decorated like the front but the idea is that these get stored in a binder so anyone looking through it would see both sides. **
Any questions, just let me know in comments or through PM! =D *****Comment Question****Please have every pocket decorated in some shape or form. If you put a bag of glitter in one pocket, try to put a piece of decorative paper behind the glitter for example, so it is not just a pocket with a bag of glitter and nothing else. There does not have to be a "goody" in each pocket. But at least 4-5 pockets should have items in it. For instance, I like to do one pocket as an ATC. Which isn't really a "goody" but it is something that takes time, care and effort which I think is appreciated. |
