This is an international swap. Newbies are welcome. No recent or unexplained no-sends please. This is a great swap for people who are not crafty! All you need is a blank book, any glue, and some stuff to glue in it, like pictures and words from magazines. That's it! If you don't know what a gluebook is, you can google and get some ideas. Basically, you get yourself a book of any kind (I like wire bound blank books because they lay open flat, but any book you can mail will do), some glue (like glue sticks or Elmers or rubber cement), a pair of scissors (or just tear stuff) and a source of images and words for content (like magazines, postcards, junk mail, ephemera, brochures, business cards, stickers, etc). Then you open up your book to an empty page, cut out some stuff, and glue it in any way you like. For this swap you will have one partner and you will create a gluebook for and about YOUR PARTNER. Please read your partner's profile and find out what their interests and likes are. Then you will create at least 20 pages + title page in a gluebook featuring what your partner likes. This sounds like a lot but if you do 2 page spreads, that is 10 spreads plus the title page. Some people like doing individual pages only, that is fine too. The pages can be as full or open as you prefer.
You may also experiment with any fastening or attaching you like (tying, sewing, stapling, etc) but the MAIN focus of the book muust be glueing. I have done several gluebooks on swapbot and I literally can finish a whole book in a little over an hour. This is supposed to be fun and easy. 10 minutes per page, or even 5, is just fine. Here are some images of the last gluebook I did for a swap: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v80/mountaineer/gluebooks/Picture9.png http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v80/mountaineer/gluebooks/Picture19.png http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v80/mountaineer/gluebooks/Picture10.png The only restriction is that this book is NON DIGITAL. This means, no pictures you have downloaded off the internet and printed out, no text that you typed on a computer or from a printout. This is collage art from found items. If you have any questions please message me. Have fun!!! |
