Pocket letters are very popular just now, and are fun to make! The basic Pocket Letter is created using an album page meant for collectible cards, like baseball cards, or ATC's. Using craft supplies, mostly paper, decorate each pocket front and back, and write a letter to your partner and tuck it into one of the pockets. Fill at least 3 of the other pockets with an assortment of small goodies that you think your partner would enjoy--an ATC, some stickers, ephemera, a tea bag, cute office supplies or planner accessories, etc. If you wish, you may tuck something into each pocket, but please send a variety. Pocket letter pages available in the US are generally a bit over 8.5 x 11 inches and have nine pockets which measure 2.5 x 3.5 inches. If you find something different that you want to use, you may. If you cannot find any pocket pages at all, please PM me and I can send you one. I'm giving a long time to make the pocket letters, both because I may be sending pocket pages to swappers in other countries to get started, AND because this may be a first time experience for some folks, and I want everyone to feel there is enough time for the project. If you need a jolt of inspiration, have a look on Pinterest or Flickr for pocket letters, and you will see many different types, from simple to pretty involved & highly creative. As with all my swaps, I will angel if you are flaked on, after you have rated your partner a "1", though I have never ever needed to angel in The Paper Dragon... If you have questions, please post them below & I will answer. (image by serena) |
