ATC - Merit Badges for Adults (or sort-of adults)

As a young girl, I loved learning earning merit badges. They were tangible bits that showed I'd learned a new skill, or done something that moved me towards being a self-sufficient adult. Now that I am an adult (at least by age) there aren't little patches that I can collect or display to show all I've done and learned.

So, this swap is to recognize some accomplishment or skill you've attained and for which you'd like recognition. There are two parts.

1. Decide what you’d like to be recognized for, such as becoming a homeowner or mastering a new craft. Write out the steps you had to do to accomplish it in the format of a merit badge. http://1806juniors.blogspot.com/2013/04/juniors-agent-of-change-digital.html has an example of the steps Junior Girl Scouts in Texas followed to earn the Digital Photographer badge. Note – you don’t have to include all the detail at the bottom of the page, just the purpose and steps for the badge.

2. Make an ATC that showcases your very own merit badge. It can be drawing, painting, sewing, collage or any other medium. Be courteous to your swap partner and don’t just print out an image or slap a sticker on a piece of paper and call it an ATC. You’re proud of your achievement, so make an ATC you can also be proud of!

Send both the ATC and the list steps for achieving your badge to your partner.
