Hi All. I want to create a very easy pocket letter swap for anyone that wants to join. Newbies to oldbies. We are all really newbies to this art as it has only been around for 6-9 months approximately. Possibly less. Please google Pocket Letter Pals & you will find literally thousands of images for some that range from basic & easy to very detailed. We will concentrate on hearts for this swap. Pretty basic & simple. So take a 9-pocket letter sheet & decorate all 9 pockets (fronts only) with heart themed papers, stickers, ephemera, stamped images, cut outs, whatever. (You are NOT making 9 atcs - so sticker slapping is ok as are other mediums.) Then put goodies in the back of 8 pockets. (think teas, ephemera, stickers, used or unused postage stamps, fun paper clips, fun post-it notes, unwanted atcs, brads, small stamped or cut out images, magazine articles or recipes, a poem, etc. The sky is the limit) For the 9th pocket - you will include an intro letter to your partner in it instead of goodies. Once finished, carefully fold the pocket letter into thirds. I mail mine in a heavy duty #10 size manila envelope, then I tape the heck out of it. You don't want these falling apart en route. And they are NOT machinable and will need to be hand-cancelled at the PO. Please make sure proper postage is affixed as we don't want these getting to our partner postage due. I usually include all my swap info/i.d. in the intro letter so I can be sure to get rated quickly. If you have any questions at all, please list them below & I will answer asap. |
