Based on the awesome title swap most recently hosted by Nserviam, this is another exercise in finding interesting phrases and word combinations- but with a twist! For this swap, you will find 15 great title ideas - from newspaper headlines, song lyrics, random words that you just like putting together, etc. BUT you will remove one word from the title you've come up with. Why? So that you have the original version to use, and your partner can add a word to make it their own and have a totally different title. Two for the price of one! I recommend writing down two copies- one for your partner with the blank spaces, and one copy for yourself with the original titles. So, for example, you find the phrase, "Beam Me Up Scotty" and think that would be a great title, you'd remove any of those words before sending to your partner, so they'd receive "________ Me Up Scotty" or "Beam Me _________ Scotty" etc. This will work best with titles that would have more than two words, but even one word and a blank can be fun and interesting. So start listening to conversations around you, reading even the milk cartons with an eye for short phrases that stand out, and add to that collection of possible project titles you (and we all) have got! |
