i've done a few searches for whimsy girl and they all look a little more realistic or skin toned doll like then the one in the image for this swap, i was wondering if the theme is sort of open ended and as long as it's a whimsical girl of some sort it's fine or is there a specific style i should be following? thanks for hosting, this looks like it's going to be fun!

Nah... there's no theme or format for this... Just whimsy:) And yes. There are a few artists that have flooded the market with their brand of 'whimsy' and it seems like that's the majority of what's out there... however, you can google Secret Hermit (?) and that may open up what you'll see;)
