Description:

I just completed my first matchbox shrine, and was thrilled with the results, and how beautiful these can turn out. For this swap, take one 32/40 count matchbox and turn it into a shrine devoted to your partner's listed animal (below)

That means, everyone who signs up, please list below the animal of your choice for your shrine!

Animal spirit guides? They are the animals we feel closest too and have a special bond with...it can be anything from a fly to a giraffe to a griffin...its all up to what your partner requests.

These matchboxes are to be decorated, NOT filled with stuff...create a scene of some kind, use your artists skills - this is NOT for those who only use stickers and ready made scrapbook materials. Completely decorated, preferably covering entire matchbox with fabric/ paper, etc so no cardboard is shown. Try to make 'doors' on the shrine, and find a unique way to have them close (with button, ribbons, snaps, etc)

As with all the swaps I host, I fully expect everyone to put some heart and soul into their work and to produce a piece of art, not just a hastily thrown together something. SO DONT JOIN if you cant devote time. Notice Im giving 30 days for this to be completed.

I'd like either a crow or a blue heron please :-)

My animal guide is a White Wolf--I got it many years ago in a Indian Medicine Wheel Ceremony. Then several years later I went to work at a Wildlife rescue center and had exception experiences with a Male White Wolf named SPIRIT! So I naturally think this swap is wonderful and I'm deffinately joining!

My animal is the dragon (please no asian dragon!)

Welcome everyone :-) Im still trying to decide on which animal...

BastCrystal 09/ 8/2008 #

I'd like either a domestic black cat or a jaguar. I would prefer the jaguar, however, I know how hard it is to find them. :-)

my animal is the wolf. I love to run with her!

Greenwoodtree 09/21/2008 #

I guess I will have to say my animal is the fox, however, I also have a strong affinity to most rodents, especially prairie dogs, mice, rabbits and squirrels.....and also deer! Have fun!!

Hi! I'd love one with either Crow or Beaver for the animal spirit guide. I'm really partial to Crow, but Beaver was my first guide. Celtic designs and/or Native American designs are wonderful, and sparkly things are always good, especially for Crow!

I cannot choose! Please, to my partner, make me one with an animal that you think I need a message from :) Or whatever is your favorite as I love all of the spirit guides and love to learn a little something from them all :)

storylaura 09/26/2008 #

a dragonfly or crow for me please.

jukejan 09/26/2008 #

Spirit guides for me are Crow or Turtle. Moon images are always welcome in addition to the guides, too. Thanks.

Well mine are the Goose & The Hawk. Every time I see a flock of geese flying overhead I say "go guys" and I know I'm going to have a great day...When I see a hawk flying overhead I feel he is protecting me! :)

HennyPenny 09/29/2008 #

I'd have to say...giraffe or monkey.

TheCraftaholic 09/30/2008 #

I would love a raven or an owl. Preferably a raven.
