I've edited my instructions to help it read better AND I've simplified it so that we will only be writing the 9-page letter (before I had an option of continuing onto the back). Thus, if you have already printed out these instructions, please re-read them and/or re-print them before starting this swap. Don't be scared off by the length this letter needs to be. Yeah, it's 9 pages, but each of those 9 pages will be no larger than 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches (the size of an artist trading card, ATC). :) My idea on the # of pages is that each page of your letter will fit into a pocket letter sleeve, which has 9 pockets. To make your "stationery," you will decorate each of your pages with washi tape, stickers, doodles, drawing, use stencils, rubber stamps, etc. Make each page of your stationery colorful & fun. Please number each page. Once your pages are decorated and you've numbered them, start writing your letter on page 1, then 2, and so on until you have written your entire letter on the "9 pages of your decorated stationery." You will then put each page into the pocket letter sleeve in order of your numbered pages. Don't fold your pages, leave them so the writing and your decorations show. Now flip your pocket letter sleeve over and put 2-3 flat stickers into the back of each pocket (for your partner's use), for a total of 18-27 stickers. Please keep the stickers flat (no 3D or puffy ones). I encourage everyone to look at their partner's profile to try and send stickers they will enjoy. When your partner opens up your pocket letter, they will see the words written on each page in order so they can read it. When they flip the letter over, the back side will show the stickers in each pocket. Don't forget to decorate your mailing envelope. There is nothing happy about a plain envelope with just an address written on it. By keeping everything flat, this swap should be fairly inexpensive to mail. |
