I'm a connoisseur of crap. Are you? Because if you are, and you live in the US (sorry my international friends,) this is the swap for you...and if you aren't, welllllllllll, it STILL may be the swap for you. Here's the dealio....get yourself a small flat rate box for free from the post office. You know, the one that an old VHS tape would fit in? (If you don't know what a VHS tape is, go google it...and never admit you did that,) NOW... go dig into your stash of crap...ahem, GOODIES...and fill that box. Don't just put stuff in it, STUFF it so full you need to put your foot on it then lay on the bed to squish it down to close it up (you know the way you do your skinny jeans when you ate a pint of rocky road and you can't quite get the zipper up...or the way you do the suitcase when you just HAD to add the extra outfit, AND shoes, AND accessories at the last minute.) Did you close it up yet? No? Good. Because here's the first catch...it can't all be paper stuff. That's right. You have to include non papery goodness too, cause I know you've got some. Non papery goodness might include a pen, or cool paperclips, old fridge magnets, junk jewelry, buttons, wooden puzzle pieces, heck, a piece of plastic fruit...you just never know til you dig what you'll find WAY down in that stash you have...at least if your stash(es) are like my stash(es) that is. Ready? Ok, ...wait, what was that question from the back row? Why, yes! I did mention the FIRST catch a minute ago...so there IS a second catch! You k ow how you stuffed that box full? Well, you don't actually have to use that box. That's right folks. Did you know that you can fit 3-4 times as much into a flat rate polybag envelope and that it's LESS expensive to mail? Yeppers. You can use a flat rate poly envie if you'd like, so that you can cram even more stuffs in there if you'd like. Or if you're just thrifty. Two catches, is that all woman you ask? Well, umm, nope. There's one more....but you're gonna like it! Third catch is this. When you get your swap in the mail, and finish marveling at all the new CRAP, ahem...GOODIES, I mean, goodies....then turn around and make something with it. Yes I did! This is gonna be a two parter folks! Part one is this swap. Part two if you should choose to accept the mission, is to make something using what you've gotten to send to you partner in the next swap. That swap is gonna be posted soon, and it will be called creatively enough, PART TWO. Like it? I knew you would! Recap: Fill a flat rate box or polybag with stash stuff, including at least a couple non paper items, mail off to your partner. *Optional: If you feel inspired, sign up for part 2 and make something for your partner you receive in that swap from what you've received from your partner in this swap. GOT IT? Any questions.....shoot me a message, cause I answer faster that way. Looking forward to it guys and gals! |
