I've been wanting to make these for a long time and hope you'll join me! For this swap you'll have two partners and you'll send 1 Japanese paper doll to each partner. I've searched the web for good instructions and I like the ones I found The tutorial is easy-to-follow, and all measurements are given in inches. If you find another tutorial you like better, feel free to use that one. For visual learners there are video tutorials on youtube. The instructions call for chiyogami paper (I think that's a type of origami paper) BUT I think you can use any type of thin, patterned scrapbook paper in coordinating colors. I have seen these used as bookmarks and they can also decorate greeting cards or hang as ornaments--very versatile. Just a note: When sending the dolls to your partners, please help the postal system to keep them FLAT by inserting a piece of stiff cardboard inside your envelope. Let's make some paper dolls! |
