Description:

I love Haiku.

They are short and fit perfect on a postcard.

For this swap, each person will have five partners. You will send a Haiku on a postcard. It doesn't even have to be written by you. (Poetry Critical is a great place to find Haiku and other poetry.)

Postcards can be handmade or store bought. This is an international swap since it is just a postcard you will be sending.

I do reserve the right to ban anyone with more than two no sends. This may just be a postcard swap but everyone deserves to get their postcards!

dreamstealer - Now that is efficient! LOL

I have a general question - are we following the traditional 5-7-5 or the more modern rules? take a look at http://pachome1.pacific.net.sg/~loudon/alexey_def.htm

what do you all think of the rules - traditional or modern?

marcia1977 03/ 5/2007 #

I followed the traditional 5-7-5 ...

Today I recieved a Haiku postcard with 2 cats and a great haiku poem....it looks as if a car ran over the card and I can't read the name of the person who sent it...sigh...I can see their address is Buvin, WA... I like the card and poem....let me know who you are.....

analog, ellawitch, Kimmie, and DDMaree: i sent my postcards, i hope that everyone really enjoys it! i hand made them, so hopefully they'll fare well in the mail!!!

as for the rules, i prefer the traditional. but rules were made to be broken... :)

Hi Dreamstealer - the pc from Burien was from me. Was that the picture of the two cats strolling down the alleyway leaning into each other like two old friends? Glad you liked it - sorry it came to you looking a little ragged from the journey. I thought the haiku I chose (from a book of traditional haikus) fit well with a humorous twist! This was a fun swap and I'd love to do it again.

Oops! I accidentally almost rated one person for the wrong thing- Kim, that would be yours, I got two of mine today, and in case I forget, poke me with a sharp stick if I don't repost this in your rating: I thought it was especially neat that you used an old fashioned typewriter to do this... very cool!

madpeoplejen 03/12/2007 #

I sent mine today to Emily, Adelle, Robert, Marcia, & Megan. Enjoy!!

dreamstealer 03/12/2007 #

Mine are on the way to their recipients! I hope you enjoy them! :) I loved writing ther Haiku's while I was laid up in the surgical centers all week, wishing I could be out horseback riding during some of the first good weather in months, up here instead. Darn. No surprise they all have a horse theme. ;)

Windchimes 03/14/2007 #

Mine were mailed today! I hope you enjoy them but I'm keeping mum on who they went to. I had a LOT of fun with this one. I am involved in the Haiku community to an extent and this was a great swap - I would love to see another one or two... or more! LOL I am so enjoying receiving mine as well!
