Description:

You know those little plastic Easter eggs you get from the store that you can place candy in to hide? Well they are mailable! For this swap you will be stuffing one with goodies and mailing it "naked" to your partner. Here are the rules:

  1. Select the jumbo size and not the smaller ones. The larger ones are about 3 inches tall and can hold more than the standard size. It will also be easier to place postage and the address on them.

  2. Fill it with goodies you think your partner will like. It's sender's choice but it's always nice to check profiles for allergies and dislikes. Some ideas are stickers, candy, wrapped tea bags, drink mixes, little miniature figurines you get out the quarter machine, tiny erasers, costume jewelry etc. The possibilities are endless.

  3. Use an address label or permanent marker to write the address and return address, then cover it with tape just to be sure.

  4. Go around the opening of the egg with tape and make sure it is secure and there is no way the contents will accidentally spill out.

  5. Make sure you weigh and place the correct amount of postage. If you don't have a scale, take it into the post office. Remember if you do place stamps on them, stick them firmly because you can't put tape over stamps.

  6. Send it to your partner!

Who can join?

  • Rated swappers with at least a 4.98 and newbies with well filled out profiles.

  • If you have any unexplained 1 or 3 ratings you will be banned.

  • If you have a 1 that you owe to any active swapper you will be banned.

  • If you have had any 1 or 3 ratings in the past six months you will be banned.

  • If you have any late swaps on your dash you will be banned.

  • I will very thoroughly check profiles and ban at my own discretion.

  • US swappers only. Sorry but I don't think you can put a customs form on the eggs. It just won't fit!

Note: I do angel all my swaps after the receiving swapper has rated the flaker a 1. However, if you flake in one of my swaps you will be exposed in the public forums so don't flake because it's STEALING!

These type of swaps were fun for me. I was in a swap long ago for a 2 liter pop bottle I believe. i was embarrassed mailing it but it was so worth it in the end LOL. Kuddos to the host for setting up a swap for the eggs!! Love these kinds of swaps :)

Can't put tape over stamps? I mean, I know it's not ideal, but I've certainly done it before and never had a problem.

I've gotten a "return to sender" message over it before. That was years ago. Perhaps that's changed.

I think you can put tape on the stamp as long as it doesn't cover the entire stamp. There has to be some of it available for them to stamp. At least that makes sense to me.

Where can you buy the jumbo Easter eggs? I have not found any in stores, yet... I have seen them in stores in previous years, I just haven't seen any this year...

I saw some jumbo eggs at Kroger. The downside was that they were clear on one side, so I'm still searching.

marcellacharlotte 02/19/2016 #

Thanks for the response Sara! I will keep searching too and see if I can find some. I'll let everyone know if I do...

Maybe line the clear side with a piece of colored tissue so nobody can see in? Would that be okay?

marcellacharlotte 02/20/2016 #

Dollar Tree has some very large jumbo Easter eggs for $1.00 each in various colors (they're approximately 7'' x 4''). One side is clear, but as homeandheart mentioned, colored tissue could be used so no one can see in.

I want to make sure I understand. Mail the egg and not put it in a box?

blueapplegallery 02/22/2016 #

Okay by "jumbo" I meant the ones that are 3 inches from top to bottom not the super huge ones that have a clear side but if you want to use one of those that's fine too, but the requirement is the three inch ones.

Also, yes you do mail them without putting them in a box or package.

I made a typo in the last comment.

The requirement is to use an egg that is at least 3 inches. You can use larger and still be within the requirements for this swap.
