Hello Sisters. A few weeks ago, for Yule, my younger sister ordered me a gorgeous set of chakra runes on Etsy (as you can see in the above picture). In my process of studying them, feeling them in my hands, learning the meanings of each one, I have become so mesmerized by their beauty. They are so incredibly breathtaking, that I've felt the need to somehow document them in an art form. This is where the idea for this swap was born; I want to draw some gorgeous runes to share with you guys. For this swap, you will have two partners. You are going to send each partner one ATC. Each ATC will have one rune symbol on it. You will pick your TWO favorite rune symbols from the elder futhark alphabet, and draw each one onto your ATC using ONLY colored pencils (you may use sharpie pens for definition/outlining). I want to keep these ATC's simple, but I do not want to restrict anyone's artistic expression, so get creative with your colors, patterns, backgrounds, etc. Write the name of the rune symbol on the back of the ATC. Include a short note (not a line) of why you chose the symbol and what it means. Include your SB name and the swap name, please. Here is a fantastic website with information about the elder futhark runes and their meanings. There is a lot of info. out about them, but I've found this website to be the most descriptive and accurate. There's history on them, meanings for each symbol and different types of rune spreads for readings. http://www.runemaker.com/futhark/reading.shtml This note will also be sent in the form of a group message---> As far as rating goes, you rate at your own will. BUT please keep in mind that everyone has different levels of talent. And keep in mind that your partner may have utilized your favorite colors from your profile, showing that they took interest in YOU. Extras are nice, and profile-based extra's are really nice, but you shouldn't hold back hearts just because you didn't receive extras or because you may not like the work. If you receive the required swap items, be kind when giving hearts. Just because it doesn't "look" like someone put much effort into it, doesn't mean they didn't. You could be holding someone's best work. Art is subjective. And we are all sisters here. So let's be grateful of each other and be generous when rating. And this comment goes for all of our swaps, as I've seen a lot of great swappers who put a lot of time and love into their swaps not earn hearts, and as a result, I've had conversations with some of you who were extremely hurt by ratings that didn't earn hearts or simple recognition in the form of a "thank you". Support each other. Send the positive vibrations around where they need to go. And have fun! Message the group founder @Tiffaknee with any questions, comments or concerns. |
