Several people in the group have privately expressed to me the current difficulties in their life. This is usually followed by how grateful they are to have something as solid as our group to keep them grounded and positive. Awesome, huh? Well, here's a swap for those days when they can't even. =D I am borrowing the swap idea from the amazing VLD with her permission, but will be adding kawaii to the mix. We are in the unique position of having so many ready to use bits of cuteness that this swap can't fail to lift even the darkest of moods. We will buy a jar or even better, repurpose a jar. VLD says, "I have a pickle jar I've cleaned up and am dying to use." You can decorate it, or not. That isn't part of the swap. You won't be sending the jar, just have it ready. The swap is to select 10 mini memos. On each of those memos you will write (legibly, Pattie!) something happy, encouraging, thoughtful, etc. It can be a quote. It can be a tasteful joke. It can be a personal note. It should only be a sentence or two so that it can be legible. And yes, it can even be printed/typewritten. You could also make a tiny envelope with an even tinier gift inside, but please only do 1 per partner as we're sending encouragement from afar. You will do this 5 times as you will have 5 partners. Yes, it's a lot, but it'll be worth it when you add them to your jar. Now fold them in half and secure them with a sticker. You might consider using puffy, glittery or flocked stickers on the "outside" of the note so that they feel different when reaching into the jar to grab some happiness. Place your 10 folded happiness notes into an envelope...again, do this 5 times... one for each partners. When you receive your memos, put them into your jar without reading them. Then, when you need a moment of happiness, you will have several to go to. Like tiny hugs from friends you've never met. (If you do one a night you'll be done in no time. =D ) |
