Fall is in the air here in New England, and my thoughts turn, as they always do to Baking! Cookies, pies, cakes, breads, muffins--anything that brings the warm smells of flour and spices and yeast and butter into the air in my kitchen! I have tons of cookbooks, but I like the idea of a Baking Journal--a sort of blank recipe book with some recipes in it to start with, and space to add my own favorites. Right now I have scraps of paper stuffed into a cupboard behind the Crisco! So, this swap will be for a handmade, or at least hand altered blank book decorated in a Baking theme, divided up into sections for Sweet and Savory baking recipes. A 1"-2" thick looseleaf notebook might be handiest, with tabbed dividers, loose pages of nicely decorated theme pages for filling in our own recipes, page protectors for sheets of recipes printed out from the computer, and clear plastic 4x6 photo pages for recipe cards, for instance. Be creative and check your partner's profile for ideas as to colors and such (or better yet, PM them and start up a conversation!!) One Partner, one Baking Book with at least 6 of your own favorite, tried and true recipes--pictures of the finished items would be fun! I cannot angel this swap, so please don't sign up if you are not absolutely sure you can complete it! It's USA only because of the postage needs of such a book, but if anyone wants to make an International version, feel free!! These can be sent Media Mail in the US!! Rated swappers must have at least a 4.8 rating, with NO recent no-sends. Newbies are welcome if they write to me first, AND have a Full profile I'm looking forward to Holiday cookies, Thanksgiving pies and cakes and soft dinner rolls fresh from the oven!! |
