Description: | |
For this swap you will collect tidbits from one day in your life and mail to your partner. Example... I get up and I read my mail. I keep all the interesting postage stamps for my partner. Next I go to Starbucks. I grab a napkin for my partner. Next stop is the hair salon. I nab an extra copy of a magazine and cut out interesting phrases for my partner. Next stop joAnn. I grab a free project guide for my partner. Home bound and cooking dinner. I include a recipe card for my partner with the main course we had. Etc. So keep your receipts, napkins, bus/train/subway/movie tickets, junk mail, stamps, etc. Grab ephemera everywhere you go, then send the most interesting stuff to your partner. You should send very close to 1 oz or a bit more to your partner. Get creative! Use your junk mail and make an envelope or take a punch and punch shapes from it. Get pretty (but blank) gift cards. Grab free sealed samples. Project guides are out for the taking at most craft stores. Recipe cards are free at many grocery stores. once you've collected your ephemera write a short note to your partner explaining what part of your day or where the things came from. You don't have to write down every aspect of your day, but feel free to share as much of it as you'd like. If you like to write long letters, by all means do, but short and sweet is fine too, as long as you share something about why you chose to include the ephemera you did. So to sum it up: keep ephemera for 1 day. Write a note/letter about your ephemera/day and put it into envie with ephemera, and mail to your partner. As always feel free to shoot me a message about any questions. |
