C&C: Summer Showers!!

You will send you partner 6 (yes SIX) envies... Each one representing a different color in the rainbow.

Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple (or violet)

Take as long as you need to prepare your envelopes, then send all 6 within a two week period... For a more shower-ish effect... And also once your partner receives one she will know to watch out for the others and may catch if there's a lost one sooner. Mail six independent envelopes (not all in one big envelope), and each sent on or before the deadline.

Keep these as lightweight as you can. (To save on postage, particularly int'l)

The envelopes can be in the assigned color OR can simply represent that color somehow (colored stickers or washi, quotes, feel free to use your imagination)

Each envie will contain the following:

-One quote or poem using the name of the color (ie Red) This may be a literary quote or any kind you can find.

-the name of one book which uses the color, but not necessarily the same name (The Hunt for Red October, The Scarlet Letter, both acceptable) and a brief synopsis (very brief... Copied from google or wikipedia is fine!!)

-one sticker, sticker sheet, label, or postage stamp that will still stick, mainly in the color (if a single sticker, it must be at least as large as a postage stamp)

-one smaller envelope for your partner to use, which is completely, or largely, representative of the color. (Could be solid or a pattern with lots of the color in it... Could even be a white or other color envie you have decorated with pen or paint or washi or magazine cut outs in the color)

-one notecard, stationery page, tag, decorated page, or any more creative thing for your partner to write upon when they use their colored envelope. Must fit inside the smaller envie.

You will have 6 weeks to complete the swap. As you receive your envies, find one safe place to keep them all so you can rate your partner appropriately once all are received.

With 6 envies required and a potential for international partners, one component could easily get lost in the mail. Let's extend grace to our sending partners, not rating untruthfully, but keeping track carefully of what arrives (this is directed at myself) and allowing them to resend if one goes missing before tossing ones out.

Be creative, complete the swap, send on time...
