Description:

I assume you all have a creative hobby you like best. In this swap you sent your partner a letter about this hobby + something that shows this hobby.

The letter should be a real letter, not just a note. Write on nice looking paper (store-bought or decorated by yourself). Introduce yourself and tell about your hobby. You can write about other things too if you wish. The something can be a lot of things, depending on your hobby. Add a drawing, something you crochet, a recipe if you're a cook or picture of your garden.

Remember this is an international swap, you might want to make something not too big. Sent on time and don't forget to mention the name of the swap and your username. You rate a 5 when you receive a letter and something representing the hobby of the sender, even if you don't like it.

Hello everyone! I guess i want to know why wouldnt a person rate something a 5 if they got it and it followed the swap rules! Why would someone rate it less than a 5 if they didnt like it? Who said feelings of not liking decides what to rate something? I guess i need an explanation on that. I dont understand why someone would have such strong opinions that they want to put a swap item down due to their shallow thinking. Where does it say in the rules rate the person's art based on one's opinion at the time of receiving. That is not even in the rules. That is sad that one has to write that in the rules to remind people that following the rules are simple. Nowhere does it say anything about an opinion. Perhaps people who are so judgmental should not even be in swaps where they behave in such manners. This whole thing about liking and not liking is kind of sad. I think if this behavior does go on we need to grow ourselves and remember to think of each artwork as if it is from one's child and we will see much more appreciation and kindness towards the artwork of many! I felt i needed to express myself about this issue because there is a sadness in me to have to respond in people not wanting to rate a swap correctly. If that is so and i have not led a swap yet, why then are people who do this kind of behavior swapping? Glad I could talk about this here. Im sorry that there has to be language in the rules to address such unhappiness. Anyone who wants to send me anything is welcomed by me with loving kindness!!

@kpfree well, that's a rant:) I can't explain, because I don't understand it either. I love anything handmade. I love when people get creative and dare to share their work. Showing your work can make you feel very vulnerable and I hate seeing people who stop trying and sharing because of opinions of others.

I've never been rated down for this and so far I have not heard it happened in this group. That's good, this group should be a safe place. But we have a lot of newbies in the group and I think it's good to point down the rules, even the obvious ones. I'm not saying newbies can't be trusted, if I believed that I wouldn't allow them in the group, but they simply might not know the rules. It can be an overwhelming website :)
