Description:

Lets do some mermaid postcards !!!

For this swap you will be making a pass & paste MERMAID postcard that that will be worked on by 4 other people and returned to you when full. When done the front will have 4 different mermaid works of art by 4 partners.

What is a Pass and Paste Postcard? It is an index card or any stiff paper size 4x6 or larger. The "front" of the postcard is divided into 4 sections and numbered.

The "back" of the postcard is divided in half. Put your address in the address section so your card will return to you once it's been filled up. Divide the "writing" side into 4 spaces.

The last person to work on the card will return it to you.

ADDED 7/21

**** Just to make sure everyone understands. If the postcard you have still needs working on and you get the persons name who's card it is as a partner. You can do 1 of 2 things. Either hold onto that pc till the next round and send out a new PC. Or you can just send the PC back home and the owner of the PC can hold onto it an send it back out in the next round with a note to their new partner that it was their PC. YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORK ON YOUR OWN CARD. IF YOU GET IT BACK UNFINISHED JUST SEND IT BACK OUT.

Rating - If you get a PC to work on for this swap then you rate your partner a 5. If they send you extras (goodies just for you) then it's nice to give them a heart since they don't have to send you anything other then a PC to work on.

*******ALSO IF YOU HAVE UNFINISHED PC CARDS IN NEED OF WORK YOU CAN INCLUDE THEM IN WITH THE SWAP PC, IF YOU GET AN EXTRA PC AND DON;T WISH TO WORK ON IT PLEASE JUST PASS IT ON. DON'T HANG ONTO PC FOR LONGER THEN 1 SKIPPED ROUND. KEEP THESE PC'S GOING SO THEY CAN BE FINISHED AND RETURN HOME. PLEASE !!!

What happens if we are assigned to the person that the postcard we have originated from?

LunaMoody 07/11/2016 #

Hold onto their pc until the next round and start a new postcard.

wolviechick121 07/13/2016 #

ok!

lovetherain 07/13/2016 #

If we didn't join the first round, can we still join the subsequent rounds?

Confusing. I assume it is like a round robin. So how do you end up rating? I have done 2 of these where I rated the person that sent to me, but mine went out and never came back to me. You can't rate poorly of the one that never sends in the end because it goes into another round and if they didn't sign up, they end up keeping it. SO disappointing!

@lovetherain - yes, you can still join. You will just start with a fresh postcard following the guidelines above. The rest of us will be continuing with the postcards we had already been sent, so the one you receive may already have one completed section done. There will be many rounds of this as long as people continue to sign up. =)

@needlewings - You rate when you receive a postcard. For example, I sent my "blank" postcard (following the guidelines above) to my swap partner. I received a "blank" postcard and rated the person who sent it to me once I received it. In THIS round, those of us who have already joined will be sending the postcard we'd received to our swap partners, but we will not be starting a postcard from scratch. Instead, we will be sending our swap partner the postcard that we'd received from round 1 with our added embellishments to our section of the postcard. If our swap partner in this round is the originator, but their postcard hasn't been completed yet, we will send them a NEW blank postcard that can also be sent around in the swap mix. If you receive a postcard with only 1 spot left for addition, that spot is yours, and you will be responsible for sending the completed postcard back to its originator (whose address should already be on the postcard).

I dunno... I read that back and it still sounds confusing. haha. It makes sense in my head. =P Does that help, or did I just make it 1000 times worse?

I think that's part of the gamble for if you end up getting your original postcard back, but I think it's worth the risk. There's a lot of good people in this group. =)

I'm also making myself a little tracker so that when I see who my partner from round 1 gets assigned to in round 2, I can kind of keep track of where my postcard goes next until we get to round 4 when I should (hopefully) expect to be getting my postcard back (and can maybe message a little reminder or set up a private swap with the last person who gets it so they can still get a rating for sending my card back). =)

Thanks Wolviechick121 for answering everyone's questions. Your spot on on what to do with the pc you receive.
