*CanadaPost is not striking, so I am posting July’s Swap now. I will give the same amount of time I normally do (2 weeks for signup, and 2 weeks for sending). I will be posting August’s swap on time, so the two will slightly overlap. All upcoming themes are posted below though, so you can make your cloths for future swaps ahead of time. ïŠ This swap is for one handmade 100% cotton dishcloth (no tiny scrubbies!). I find most patterns are between 7†& 10†wide, so your dishcloths should be at least 7â€X7â€, or for round, at least 7†in diameter, shaped should be at least 7†on longest side. It can either be knit or crochet, and you can use any pattern you like (there are a TON of free patterns online). July’s color theme is BRIGHT colours. Think jewel tones, colours of the rainbow, etc. Make ONE dishcloth for one partner in any bright colour you wish. Optional - If you like, you can also use a SUMMER themed pattern. This, however, is NOT a requirement. I find themed patterns fun, and dishcloths are small enough to try new patterns out without too much stress. So, to recap: Make ONE dishcloth for ONE partner Use BRIGHT colours! Hot pink, ruby red, lime green, sunshine yellow, etc 100% cotton Knit or crochet Feel Free to also make in a summer theme, although not a requirement Monthly swaps will be posted at the beginning of the month, the signup deadline will be on the 15th of each month, and swap will be due on the last day of the month. You don’t need to wait for partners to be assigned. Choose any pattern and the month’s color, and get making! I’ve posted the list of every month for the rest of the year, so you can go ahead and make these up any time. Shipping for these should be fairly cheap, as they aren’t heavy, and are fairly thin when unfolded. (I know here in Canada, they are flat enough would ship as an oversized letter instead of a parcel, greatly decreasing shipping costs. You may want to see if your country offers the same type of shipping). :D Swappers must have a 4.95 rating to join, with no recent 1s or 3s without good reason. Newbies are welcome, but you must have a fully completed profile to join. I will angel if needed, but let’s not make that necessary! @LisaLisa3 hosts a fun monthly USA dishcloth swap, so if you're in the USA, check hers out too; you could participate in both, and get twice as many dishcloths, lucky ducks!* List of 2016’s swaps: January – blue, white (winter) DONE February – pink, red (Valentine’s) DONE March – Green (St Patrick’s) DONE April – Pastels (Spring) DONE May – purple, pink (flowers)DONE June – Varigated, ombre (beach, vacation)DONE July – bright colors (summer) August – neutrals: brown, grey, white, black (Zen, Relaxation) September – red, orange, yellow, brown (Autumn) October – orange, black, green, purple (Halloween) November – leftover yarns, any colors, must use at least 3 different colors (nature) December – red, green, white (Christmas) |
