We all could use a little fun in the mailbox am I right? Send your partner a store bought or nicely handmade (greeting card style) note card with a happy message or quote inside to inspire them for the week. Include one small, flat surprise for them. You can check profiles for ideas, but this is not a profile based swap so don't rate down if you don't like your surprise. It can be a postcard, stickers, washi or whatever. You can easily keep it under an ounce so you can use just a stamp for these. You can send more to your partner, but keep in mind to have correct postage. Paying postage due is not really a bright happy way to start your week. These shouldn't take too much time so turn around will be quick. Sign up by Wednesday 12am PST. Partners will be assigned by 8am PST (10am CST) on Thursday morning. Send by Friday. I will keep doing these once a week as long as people are enjoying them. Newbie friendly and I will angel if necessary. UPDATE: This will be the LAST Brighten My Notecard swap. I have truly enjoyed hosting these and of course receiving them every week. I will tell you I started these under almost selfish circumstances. I was kind of in a depressed stage in my life and was wishing someone would take the time to wish me well and I was thinking I could not be the only one. I really enjoyed the encouraging words every week from this amazing community and enjoyed hearing the stories from you guys that you felt uplifted as well. Recently, however, participation has steadily declined as well as reports coming in of more flaking and people not putting much effort into the "brightening" part of the swaps. Trying to help out newbies has bit me in the behind a bit and I'm sorry for anyone who has been wronged by these swaps. I am now back in school with 15 credits and have taken more hours/responsibility at work and can not keep up with angeling. I also feel I can not host as thoroughly and committedly as I used to/feel I should. I feel it would be unfair to this community to give you an inferior product. Therefore, I feel it is time that this good thing comes to an end. I appreciate all participation so far. Since starting these swaps, I have noticed similar swaps pop up. I encourage you to join those and continue to brighten each others lives. |
