Description:
WINTER IN THE KITCHEN SWAP--US only

First, a huge shout out and big thank you to Terri904 for the fabulous idea from her "Christmas in the Kitchen" Swap in 2008, and her gracious permission to take her idea to a different level.

Winter.......cold, chilly, brisk, snowfall, snowball fights, building snow people.....

What recipe or two evokes winter memories for you? Home made hot cocoa? Baked crusty bread in the oven? Snowball cookies, maybe? Hearty crockpot soups or chowders perhaps.......

Whatever it is, for this swap, you will send your partner 2 of your favorite recipes for the winter weather, along with a handmade half apron that evokes winter (NOT Christmas!), and also with a winter-related small gift of your choice.

If you don't sew, you can still participate, as Etsy and eBay and other web stores have lovely selections of handmade aprons. You may even be able to do a private trade with someone here on Swap-Bot who sews aprons for something you make!! Just make sure the apron relates to winter in some way. Perhaps if you get a plain half apron, you can dress it up for winter a bit by adding some snowflake ribbon or attach a snowman potholder or tea towel to it.

As for your small gift item, ideas include a shaped cookie cutter, a cookbook or magazine with winter themes, perhaps even a winter table runner..... you get the idea. Be creative.

IN SUMMARY, YOU WILL BE SENDING TO ONE PARTNER:
  • 2 winter related recipes
  • 1 handmade (can be purchased) half/hostess apron that evokes winter
  • 1 small winter related gift item
Remember, nothing CHRISTMAS, just WINTER!

While I have allowed newbies with no ratings in previous swaps, I won't for this one. I'm sorry. There will be plenty more opportunities for these swaps.

I will consider making this one international based on input from participants, but for now, I'm listing it as US only. (This is only because I personally have extremely difficult physical challenges getting to the post office, which I must do in order to mail an international package.) I will ban any swapper with questionable ratings. If you have less than 4.75 don't even bother signing up. I WILL check all profiles thoroughly.

BE SURE AND SIGN UP FOR THE OTHER SWAPS LIKE THIS ONE:

This sounds fun. May I join?

Becky again...do you have an e-mail address for contact? Should I list my address here?

purplewhimsy 10/15/2008 #

No Becky, never list your email in a public place online. This page can be viewed by anyone on the internet. When the signup deadline has passed, swap-bot will automatically match people up. You will be sent an email by Swap-Bot computer telling you the matches have been made, and then you will come back to this page and click over on the right hand side where you will then have the option to see who you have been assigned to send to and their address.

You are very new here, and I have written in clear directions that no new people are allowed to join this swap. I have three other swaps like this one scheduled throughtout the entire next 12 months, so after you've been in some substantial swaps, you can come back and sign up for the other ones.

I have sent you email offering to help you find your way around. Go back to the very top of this page and click on "Messages" and we can write to each other privately through the Swap-Bot computer where it is secure and I can help you find your way around.
