Two partners, just two pieces of mail art using ANY glue for batik: one to each. The sample instructions are for gel glue, but Elmer's blue gel glue in particular can be hard to find when it is not "back to school" season. The original picture with a dark maroon background was with glue, I'm trying to put up an image showing some with gel glue and some a thicker not gel glue. at least 25% if design space should be your batik - so more than a quarter of the front of the postcard. Don't count the address space if you do an envelope. Here's a link to a sample description using gel glue that RyeRye posted in our forum, but any glue is OK for this swap. You can also dry brush over the glue later and the "batik lines" will pickup that color. clear gel seems to absorb the watercolor paint. If you're in the US, finish this with your taxes. I need to use more paint to see much salt effect. I think there is not enough moisture. If you can see the salt effect on my image, it's probably quite a close-up. |
