Are the stamps to be sent new or cancelled?

Erna 03/18/2007 #

Hi Julie - I see that your Q above was not answered yet. I am going to sign up for this swap, I think - and I would also like to know. Hope it's cancelled... but I think I'll be able to manage new, too. I also wonder what the definition of a "really nice stamp" is...? Plants/flowers?

Although the swap date is March 30, I will not be able to get my swap in the mail until around 2 April. Hope that's OK?

I have recently organised a big collection of mainly First Day Covers that I inherited, and quite a few stamps, too. I am not a collector, so this swap will provide an opportunity to "do" something with some of the doubles I've got.

See you swapping! Erna xx

Hi Erna and Julie: I want to know the same thing, so I'll go email the lead person directly. I'll ask her to post her clarification here so you too can see it.

hello, sorry for delay, I was on holiday.

That, you have to send used stamps, differenc 50 pc stamps. And the nice is for me ex. anilmals, flowers, everthing what is not usually.

New stamps are ok for me, too. I will send used stamps but not all will have a cancellation mark on them, sometimes this mark ruines the picture, I think. Probably I will not send before April 2nd, too. I love stamps for the pictures on them especially animals, art and childrens themes like Disney or other colourful sweet pictures. I think 50 stamps ensures that there will be something for everyones taste.

I have some stamps that date back to the 1980's and 1990's - they are mostly cancelled. Could I include them too?

(not to sound like I'm on a soap box or anything, but just to clarify) -

the "nice" stamps are known as "commemmoratives - and are larger than the "definitives" (regular issue) -

they are printed to HONOR something, with pictures of people, places, animals, flowers, artists, etc, and there is a HUGE variety of things to choose from! (some smaller post offices do not always carry the wonderful commems, but online, (in the US), you can go to usps.com and order them, even older ones that are considered "out of issue".

(yes, I am a stamp collector, lol) hope that helps, have a good week, and I'm SO happy I saw this swap, it's going to be FUN!

stamps are winging their way not TOO far - to St Paul, from here in South Dakota, lol - - Susie, I hope you like them, (born and raised near the twin cities, then lived there as an adult for several years - small world!)

have a great week, MaryB

...not sure where they are coming from, and it says "Tellu" has sent them, but I've not received anything yet. I'll give it a few more days, before giving a 1 rating - I've not seen any posts by you here, but if you read this, please comment, telling me when you sent them, and where they are coming from, so I'll know to not rush into a rating of 1.
