"For this swap you will create a "chunky row house" with a Christmas theme I hosted four of these last Christmas so this year, I am adding to my village. There are lots of examples, example, example on the internet. Now that you know what they are, here are the swap details: You will make one chunky house for your one partner. you will either make a house using Christmas colors or you will make the type of house that fits a theme. Christmas village, candy land, gingerbread house, North pole etc. For these swaps, our Chunky Houses will be built out of sturdy cardboard and have a width of 3-5 inches. The height can vary any where between 4-8 inches. I use the cardboard of the postal services flat rate boxes. its thin and sturdy and light weight. I also use the corner of the box as my stand. Some people will want to accordion attach their houses so do not attach the stand to the house itself. instead, you can look up any type of foldable easel and create an attachable easel covered in decorative paper to send along with your house. your partner can attach it to the back of the house if they so choose. This is a change to the previous swap instructions. if you need a pattern for a foldable cardboard easel, I can send you one or you can just look one up on the internet. The shape of the roof line is also up to you, so make house shapes in any style that you like. Please layer papers, embellishments, old Christmas cards, paints, ribbons/laces, photos, fabrics, fibers, paper clay, and whatever else you like to make your house out of. you can have doors and windows that open to surprise images if you like. You can optionally, decorate the back side also though that is not required but at least put nice paper on it so that when displayed it still looks nice. Please mail these in a sturdy envelope of some kind. Please sign and date the backs of the houses. Have fun making these cool little houses! If you would like two houses in your village, I also have another swap just like this one in the regular swaps. I will allow anyone into the swap with a 4.9 rating or higher, no ones or threes in the last six months. if you look flaky, I will not let you play. Christmas swaps are notoriously flaky so I want to protect all participants. |
