Description: | |
The Snow Man WALLACE STEVENS One must have a mind of winter To regard the frost and the boughs Of the pine-trees crusted with snow; And have been cold a long time To behold the junipers shagged with ice, The spruces rough in the distant glitter Of the January sun; and not to think Of any misery in the sound of the wind, In the sound of a few leaves, Which is the sound of the land Full of the same wind That is blowing in the same bare place For the listener, who listens in the snow, And, nothing himself, beholds Nothing that is not there and the nothing that is. There are some beautiful winter poems out there, and even more that have yet to be discovered! You will send your partner one poem on the subject of winter. It can be one previously published, or if you are a budding poet, one of your own works! It may be typed or handwritten, on paper or in a note card if space permits, but no postcards. Any extra poems, stickers, tea, etc. is at the sender's discretion and not required for a 5 rating. Please send and rate on time. Include swap name and your username somewhere on the envelope. If you have any questions, please message me and I will start a Q&A in the comments below. |
