Description:

OK, you know the drill~except this swap is for ATC's made out of ONE sheet of 8.5x11 card stock. NO layers of paper~what I'm looking for is for you to stamp on the sheet and make 9 atc's from that one sheet of paper. Embellishments are great, but NO extra paper~ These will be quick (and it's fun to see what everyone comes up with)!

You can use your one sheet as a background or it could be scrap's of paper with a stamp on it? The list is endless.....

Each sheet of paper will make 9 ATC's, so you will send each partner two ATC's. IF you have every flaked on ANY ATC swap before, please do not sign up! Newbies are allow, only if you have filled out your pofiled.

This swap is fast and you will have extra's left over for other swaps! So, get busy.....

This is an international swap.

LIKE the IRS, I'm given you two extra days to mail these off~hope that will help those that are knee high in tax forms

i am thinking like christine... but no utee, i have not yet gotten real good that yet. How about alcohol inks, and random stamps on that? also let me be sure about the amount of partners and how many atcs to each. we will have three partners each, and we are to send ..... we'll have 10 atcs we have made....we have 3 partners, and we send each 2 atcs each. that will leave us with a remainder of 4 atcs for ourselves? Is this right, or is it wrong? susi

jakfrostwife 03/26/2007 #

YES Susi that is correct.....you will have 4 left over if you do the whole sheet (why not get's some ahead of the game?) And alcohol inks is just what I had in mind when I did this swap or even easy "stampscapes".......I love that look and I'm always in "awed" of other's and what they can come up with!

Now, for the good comment! Last night, as I was waiting to go to sleep, (I'm an insomniatic{sp?} nightowl, LOL!), I was doing these on a smaller scale, using a base of about 6x6 or so, because i found a really neat card in my stash I wanted to use, but I knew it would not cover an 81/2 x 11 sheet. I then realized what I was making! Have any of you heard of serendipity squares/ I used to make them all the time, using my glue stick or even my zyron for the adhesive. I also embossed them when I was finished collaging the paper, sometimes with decorative stamps, sometime I just sprinkled embossing poder over the collage, and what stuck to the glue from the glue stick , I'd emboss. It worked like a charm! Anyway, After these were done, I'd cut them into 1", 1 1/2", and 2" squares. They make great embellishments on cards, scrapbook pages, and I bett they will in altered books and atcs as well. i even have used one cut into ATC size as an abstract atc for a swap here. I can't believe that I have been doing these all these days, and it did not come to me until last night! I betcha I even have a stash of these that I made a couple years ago hiding somewhere! If you want to find out more about serendipity squares, go to Lisa Vollrath's site, (lisavollrath.com) "Go make Something" section, register if you are not already, and look up in her "how to's" serendipity squares. She give great step by step instructions, and you'll really get hooked on making them! She also has many many MANY other great ideas on her site as well. Check it out, you won't be disappointed. susi

Gosh was that an easy site?? It's done on "glossy paper" and then you let your muse have it's a wild time!

I don't think Kevin let you know the easy, easy way of doing back ground color (it's a brayer?) but then I love his way as it's much more with a smooth finish~

BUT in a pinch, I've been know to brayer it!

It will make it easy for your swap partner to keep and rate you when the time is right, if you make sure that you have the name of the swap somewhere on the envelope! Please don't rate your partner until at least 10 days are past the due date, as I just happened to have been in a swap that the swapper mailed me a letter (US to US) and it took from Feb 7 to March 25 to get to me? NO postage was not due! It was clearly postmarked too! What the post office was doing with this letter, I don't know?

Wanted to share that you inspired me to finally try alcohol inks. So instead of the paint background like I usually do I tried alcohol inks and made whole sheet backgrounds in different colors. Selected one sheet then stamped away on it.

I think it is funky in the end. My original idea was to do flowers and butterflies on a pretty spring-ish background. But as I went through my stamps the odd ones were "calling out to me" so I changed the theme to be "images from a weird dream" and my sheet is done.

I also used Lisa Vollrath's directions to get 10 ATCs from on 8.5x11 inch sheet.

I will be mailing these out today. Thanks for all the inspiration everyone and also for hosting this swap.
