Description: | |
For this swap you'll be creating a junk journal made from (as far as I can tell) a catalog, notebook paper and junk mail envelopes. This tutorial has 3 parts and they can be found and HERE This will be a journal for your partner to use so there should be LOTS of space for writing--not blank space--but painted/stenciled/colored surfaces. Please add embellishments in the corners or around the edges. She doesn't show any techniques other than painting and stamping, but you're free to add anything you like including washi tape, etc. Although she doesn't explain this, I think she has a notebook with sewn-in pages (instead of spiral) and removes the pages from the center, which creates a double-width page. If you can't find that, use any other type of paper you like. Your journal should be between 5"x7" and 6"x8". These are guidelines so if your partner is over or under a bit, that's ok. We're not adding to an existing journal so please allow your partner some leeway on the size. Let's shoot for 5 'double width' pages (or 10 singles if you can't find the doubles) and at least 5 junk mail envelopes. She also doesn't specify how to assemble the finished pages so that's up to you: sewing, stapling, etc. Recently I purchased a long-arm stapler from amazon for under $10 and it is AMAZING. The reach is 12"! So inexpensive and so functional HERE is the link if you're interested. Any questions? Please post below. Let's get junkin'! |
