This swap will be one of a series, intended to help all of us learn some new skills or hone some old ones. Each month will be a theme:

January - Motifs (designs in knits and purls) February - Cables March - Lace Other months TBA!

You will knit one dishcloth to send to one partner. It will be based on the month's theme - this month is MOTIFS. You should use kitchen cotton to knit a usable dishcloth at least 5x5 inches or larger using a combination of knits and purls to create a small picture or saying on the cloth. Examples include:

Sock Monkey

Born to Knit

Feel free to use the above patterns or find other free ones at Knitting Pattern Central.

You must be a member of the Knitters R Us Group to participate. A rating of 4.9 or better is required. Newbies are welcome, IF you PM me first AND have a completed profile. I will angel this swap if someone flakes. You MUST rate for this swap, I stalk non-raters! This is an international swap, as postage should be small.

Yeppers! Kitchen cotton is just the cheapy Peaches and Cream or Sugar and Cream yarn. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll send ya some! One ball could get you through a few months of these swaps!

I just love knitting dishcloths, and am gradually converting my friends to using them, instead of buying those terrible rubber cloths from the supermarkets. Started knitting dishcloths about 10 years ago.

Do we pick a motif or do we try something our partner would like?

telizas 01/ 2/2009 #

Either way! Its more about YOU learning the technique than anything else.

we cannot get Peaches and Cream /Sugar and cream easily in aust. I would need to buy it online and have it shipped which seems difficult. Could my first partner please let me know if the cotton I have used is ok or should I look for other stuff?
