Ruth: Read-Journal-Share I enjoy doing Bible study devotionals, get a lot out of them and I thought I’d post a swap that would allow lots of people to participate without breaking the bank by purchasing books and/or DVDs. To that end, I did a Google search and found one that would work well for a Read-Journal-Share swap. This is on Ruth and includes the following in the introduction: “When life leaves us feeling empty and bitter, the book of Ruth reminds us not to give up on God.” What a glorious reminder! So let’s dig a little deeper with “Ruth: A 7-day Devotional” posted from a South Carolina congregation. Each day’s session has a Scripture text, a short reading, and two or three questions to reflect on. Although this is a seven-day devotional, the swap period will run over the course of a month*, giving everyone time for the journaling aspect. (*Swap posted May 24. Send by date June 30.) EXTENDED TO JULY 3. Please read through the entire swap description. We’ll be doing just three things – readinig, journaling and sharing -- but there are variations possible to suit each swapper’s preference. READ: Go to Ruth: A 7-Day Devotional. Ideally, you’ll read one session each day, but we have time built in for when/if life gets in the way. Read the day’s message and the day’s Scripture. JOURNAL: The journaling is where our options begin.
SHARE: Send your partner a copy of your journaling and a note saying what you got out of the 7-day study. Options here: photocopy your journaling or art journaling pages, scan and email, or send a link to your blog where your journaling on the study can be found. But you must snail mail a letter/note saying what you got out of the 7-day study. As you read Ruth, remember that the Lord is always with you, especially in the times that seem most desolate. NOTE: I’m not a member of nor affliated with this church and have never visited it. I came across their site while googling for a free 7-day devotional to send to my Week of Happy Envies partner. Snail mail (with digital option as noted). International. Group membership. |
