Description:

3-D here defined as thicker than 1/4", having depth/multiple sides, in other words not flat. I know 3-D can be confusing sometimes, least for me anyway. Halloween is right around the corner, so let's make some more ornaments for our Halloween tree or for decorating. We'll make these approximately 2 inches or smaller (give or take), not including some way to hang them, and send 6 'different' ornaments to one partner. They should be 3 dimensional, meaning not flat paper ornaments. 3-D heavy cardstock ornaments are okay. (note: looking at ornie ideas, I've seen a lot of super cool 3-ornaments made from heavy paper. Ex: rosettes.) Cardboard is a great medium for 3-d. No foamies, no scented, no sticker slapped, k? These could very well be family heirlooms handed down to generations in the future, so make them special, please. Add a way for them to be hung. Please make them something you'd love if you received them. Pkg well for shipping to protect your precious artwork, and to keep your goodies from falling out in transit. These are ornaments you make, not pass along's that someone else made.

Check your partner's profile to see if there's any no-no's, or likes you might fulfill.

Include your name and swap title with your swap, and don't be late sending please. Remember, that is part of the swap description and it's a shame to get rated down cuz you didn't mail on time. You have over a month from the sign-up date to get them in the mail.

RATE YOUR PARTNER! When you get your swap, take a minute and rate. Please don't wait around for days to do this. Your partner may be worried you haven't received your swap, and rating asap is the polite thing to do. If your partner sends you a nicely done swap, give a heart. Extras aren't meant for hearts, so don't expect that's gonna get you one if your swap item sucks. Just sayin'. Extras are for spoiling your partner.

NO FLAKING. nuff said. If you flake... I am totally tattling, and you know what that means. :-/ As usual, must have a 4.98 rating, with no recent 1's.

If anyone wants to do this swap as a public swap or for newbies or international, go for it. No permission necessary. I don't own it, it's just a fun idea. And if it's already been done... hope you don't mind another. These are awesome treasures for any holiday.

Feel free to share ideas in the comments section if you'd like. If you have questions, msg me.

Sandy, is it okay to make these out of ridged cardboard if they are made to be 3D?

Also, just a tiny hint if my partner is curious - my Halloween tree theme this year is Tim Burton inspired and will be black purple and lime green colored!

Just a quick question because I'm curious...why would we make 6 ornaments that match when they are all going to the same person? I wouldn't put more than one of the exact same ornament on my Halloween tree, but maybe other people would. (?)

Joyce, I think cardboard is a great medium to use. I say go for it. Robin, that is a good question. Guess I was thinking typical set of whatever. Gonna go change it up. Thx for bringing these things up Halloween pals.
