Description: | |
This swap is to encourage us to look back at who we were and examine who we are now. I'd like to see people reach out to their inner child/youth and give advice, warn of mistakes, talk about what you admire about your kid-self, etc. Obviously, things can be as personal or generic as you want, however the letter should be heart-felt and fill at least the front of a sheet of notebook paper. Embellishment is up to you. Feel free to use your favorite writing paper, or something as simple as generic loose leaf paper. Requirements: Part one: One letter written to your younger self from your present perspective. As personal as you want to make it, with the caution that your swap partner will be reading it and you may not want all of your feelings laid bare to a stranger. The letter should cover at least the front of one sheet of standard loose leaf paper, although it can go onto any paper you like. Embellishment of the letter and/or envelope is optional. Part two: Your swap partner should send at least a brief email comment in reply to your letter, through Swap-bot or your email on file. Please try not to critique, but just talk about how it made you feel, how it was like/unlike your own letter, if it inspired you to think about something differently, etc. Please remember that the swap is not complete if you don't reply electronically to your partner's letter. I cannot angel on this, so please send out your swaps on time and following guidelines. We are trusting the honor system here, since no one can rate that they did or did not get an email in reply. That makes this difficult, but I know that people are up to the challenge of keeping the spirit of the swap. I know that this is more serious than a lot of swaps, but I think it is a good thing. Please don't flake on this. Remember ratings are based on compliance with the swap, not if you liked/did not like the content. |
