Description:

I’m guessing I’m not the only one out there that is going to have a quiet holiday. It’s just me and the hubby and it’s way too expensive to fly out to see family, so I thought I would put together a fun little swap to do.

First of all you need to find a book. You can use an empty journal, an old text book, a coloring book, a spiral notebook, whatever you have laying around that you can glue things in to. Any size book will work but don’t make it too tiny please.

So you have your book picked out, now what? Now you go through your old magazines, daily newspapers, catalogs….whatever you have lying around and cut out pictures and words of and about your favorite things. You can also include photos of your favorite people or animals. You can glue in brochures from your favorite places to go. You can glue in the wrappers from your favorite candy bars or tea. I think you get the picture.

Please feel free to be as creative as you like. You can paint, draw, stamp, doodle, write….whatever you want to do in addition to the gluing (especially if those are your favorite things to do). Only cutting and pasting is required though.

This swap has a pretty quick turn around time so start your book right away and have fun with it.

I will look at profiles and ban anyone that seems scary to me before assigning partners.

I think I have covered everything but I’m sure I didn’t :-). Feel free to ask any questions below.

2 questions :) Is there a minimum (or maximum) number of pages we should try to fill, and, are pictures printed on the computer OK (I'd use as many other things as possible, too, of course)?

BlueDragonfly 12/20/2008 #

I knew I'd forget something :-) Great question.....I think 20-25 pages is a good minimum number, and if someone wants to go crazy and do 30 or 40 pages then go for it. Sometimes these things can become addicting :-) No maximum.

There are no restrictions as to what type of pictures you can use. It is totaly up to you!

is this what they meant by Wreck the Journal? just asking.... but this does sounds FUN!

BlueDragonfly 12/21/2008 #

I don't know what "Wreck the Journal" is, sorry :-(

@nadithings ..no this one is like a picture book.

@BlueDragonfly ..this sounds like so much fun! Please host another after the holidays. Maybe even a newbie swap? (Im stressing due to the holidays!) :)

I would join if the send date was a bit further off, as I only found this swap today. I would like a little more than 10 days to find pictures, cut, stick and decorate my book.
