Description: | |
You will start by creating a masterboard using up scraps from your paper stash. This can be scrapbook paper bits, book page bits, etc. Start with an 8 1/2 X 11 piece of card stock and layer your bits of paper, overlapping as you go. I really want you to do this randomly without thinking and planning. Be free with it! You can use glue or collage medium if you like (I used Tim Holtz matte collage medium). You really don't want too much of anything getting on top of your papers as that could pose a problem later, depending on how it gets decorated. Set your board aside and let it dry thoroughly. I let mine dry then put some heavy books on it overnight to make it nice and flat. Now, the next step! Take your page and without thinking about it, turn it upside down. The idea is for your end results to be a surprise. You will now cut at least 3 ATC sized pieces. No sneaking a peek! From my board, I cut 9 ATC backgrounds and a couple extra little bits. For this swap you will need 3 ATC sized backgrounds, so if you want to just cut those and keep a bigger piece for a journal or other project, that's totally fine. You will create one ATC for your partner using one of your backgrounds. Feel free to add rubber stamping, inks, paints, collage, embellishments, etc. to finish up your little piece of art. You will also send your partner 2 untouched backgrounds for them to use. Keep the rest in your stash for future artistic endeavours :) Details:
If you have any questions, please post below or message me. I hope you will join in and have fun with this one! Photo is my masterboard before cutting. |
