For this swap you'll be following the tutorial found HERE to make some layered & sewn embellishments. You'll have 2 partners and be mailing 3 embellishments to each partner for a total of 6 embellishments you'll need to create. The tutor uses neutrals in her examples; let's do that, too! Most printed things come on neutral colored paper so it should be easy to gather several neutral pages/lace for embelishments. Thread color is up to you. If you don't have a sewing machine, use some type of sturdy glue to hold things together OR hand sew. I love the hand-sewn look; alas, I'm an impatient crafter. You may even decide to use staples as stick-um for your elements--whatever works for you is fine. In my opinion, the tutorial is a bit long considering how simple the finished products look; you can actually get the gist of what she's doing in the first 5 minutes . . . . impatient again. Each embellishment should be no larger than an ATC card (2.5" x 3.5") but can definitely be smaller. So . . . 3 embellishments each to 2 partners. There is a follow-up tutorial where she creates a mini-notebook, a tag, and a pocket using the embellishments; we'll do that next! |
