Description:

I like keeping a journal but sometimes I just like to draw my feelings. So for this swap you will draw a doodle in each square for 31 days, from left to right. It can represent your feelings or just a 'feel-like-it' doodle. Try mixing up the times—a doodle as you wake up, a doodle after a supper, or a doodle before bedtime, even a doodle after you read a good book! You can mark it on the calendar under the day (it will all make sense once you get the sheet).

I will email you the sheet the morning I assign partners. You will start doodling on August 1st and finish August 31. Then mail your partner the doodle sheet with a flat item of your choice (postcard, sticker sheet, notecard, etc).

Have fun!

This swap is right up my alley! Looking forward to doodleing my feelings!

Catida 07/28/2019 #

Maybe this could be changed to type 3 because it involves drawing and for the effort it requires (to doodle every day for 31 days)?

cynaemon 07/28/2019 #

Can you make your own calendar? While I appreciate that you are emailing one to us, I don't have any way to print one out. Thanks.

mb58ca 07/28/2019 #

@Catida - Okay, I'll change it to a three. Thanks for the suggestion.

@cynaemon - All right, I'll let you make your own.

Is this a "creat & click" swap? Once we are done, we take photos of the doodles & email our partners? (Actually, the swap description needs to say what is being sent & how ...)

cynaemon 07/29/2019 #

Thank you.

agrimkitten 07/29/2019 #

We don't have to be really good at art to join do we? I can draw well enough to know what something is (for the most part) but I'm not an artist for sure.

mb58ca 07/29/2019 #

@agrimkitten ABSOLUTELY NOT! Just doodle--straight lines, curls, tornados, question marks, coffee cups, clouds... Artistic talent is not a requirement ;)

agrimkitten 07/29/2019 #

@mb58ca thanks for answering my question ^.^ I just didn't wanna disappoint anyone with my unartistic art lol. So I had to make sure.

Thanks for hosting this! I've been looking for a month-long challenge for August and this is a great idea!

I emailed the sheet to all players. Remember to send it to your partner with a flat gift by Sept 7. Thanks for playing!

I was wondering what the sheet would look like. I might print out two and do one like zentangle minis and then do another one with doodly doodles like people and animals (which I have to copy directly looking at them and still they don't turn out GREAT). Very fun idea!

@jenmcjen There you go!

Someone commented that there's one box short--it has 30 instead of 31 days in August. No problem. Either make a box at the back or leave it as is.

riftvegan 08/ 1/2019 #

oop! For those of us in the US... make sure you print "to fit" rather than "actual size" or "100%"!! I was so excited, I didn't notice that the PDF was a bit bigger than the Letter Sized sheet I printed on (I assume the PDF is an A4 size instead). That's probably why the person commented that there were only 30 squares, too... the page is 5x7squares but the 7th row of squares might be cut off.

So find and click that "Fit" option in the print dialog, under "Page Sizing and Handling"!

@riftvegan I realized that after I looked at the sheet on a different device. I had to use my moms iPad to get it to print right lol. My phone just hates printing things correctly and cuts off random things. So I should have realized it beforehand.

I printed it on A4 and I'm LOVING this swap, so much fun to doodle and create in these small spaces, with no pressure at all. Love it! I'm enjoying it so much I sent the sheet to my penpal as she missed the swap date, and we are going to exchange one too. That means I'm doing 2 sheets a day, it's still not enough. Thaaaaaaank You! :o)

AvianAine 08/ 4/2019 #

Same here! I'm totally enjoying my daily doodle time :) Working small is always big fun! :) Happy doodleing everyone!

riftvegan 08/ 9/2019 #

Yep, totally having fun here too! I'm using my misprinted squares as practice because I've never drawn anything in such a small space... for some of my doodles I have to figure out how big is too big! Also good for testing marker colours and pen smudging.

agrimkitten 08/21/2019 #

I can't believe it's almost over :/ it's been fun even though I'm not the best artist. >.< hopefully my partner isn't severely disappointed lol.

cynaemon 08/22/2019 #

I did say how I was feeling, but not sure the drawings actually reflect the feeling I was having. I drew things I loved.

cynaemon 08/22/2019 #

MIne is done on a 12 X 12 sheet of paper. Please refer to above comments.

agrimkitten 08/23/2019 #

I just drew whatever I felt like drawing at the moment. ^.^
