Calling all lovers of WASHI TAPE. This is an easy decorative washi tape swap. It is for a lot of 7-inch sized samples (or 9-inch; see note below). This size is just enough to use for decor on cards, envelopes, bookmarks, ATCs, etc. Please read through all swap instructions before starting. You will have 2 partners. Please use something "plastic-like" for your tapes (e.g. transparencies, cut up pieces of thin plastic placemats or plastic file folders, wax paper, etc. The size of what you choose should be roughly 5x7 (see note below). You will add as many 7-inch (or 9-inch) sized tape samples that will fit on both sides of this surface. Lay down all your samples so they overlap the right/left edge of the surface, and then when the front side is full of tapes, trim the right and left tape ends so they are flush with the edge. Turn your surface over and do the same thing. Please do not overlap tapes and please make sure they are not crinkled. After you've completed laying down your tapes on front/back to make "one set," grab a second surface and do it all again to make a "second set" of different tapes - - - because, we might as well get lots of fun tapes for the same amount of postage, right? Then set those aside and repeat the above steps for partner #2. So to recap: You will send two sets of tapes (front/back) for a total of four sides of different tapes to EACH partner. Any kind of tapes will do with the exception of no duct tape or shiny plastic tapes that need to be cut with scissors. I'm not going set a minimum number of samples because everyone's tapes could be in varying widths. Lastly, please add some washi decor to the front of your mailing envelopes. :) Note: If you want to make your samples longer than 7 inches, that's fine. I have some transparencies that I've cut for business size envelopes (A10) that I'm going to use for mine. For this, each tape length would be 9 1/4" x 4". P.S. Sorry for this long winded swap write-up! :) |
