Today is my 7 year anniversary with Swap-bot!

I found out about Swap-bot through a customer who came into my place of work looking for interesting papers to collage with to make ATC's. I had never heard of an ATC before, and she explained to me that she traded them with others on this online group.

I have met so many wonderful artists here on Swap-bot and I'm so happy to have all of you in my Halloween group! To celebrate, I am hosting this swap contest for ONE DAY ONLY!

To enter this swap contest, First sign up and then leave a brief message below telling us why you joined Swap-bot. Once partners are assigned, look for your partners comment below, and if there is one, rate them a 5 and leave them a nice little note in the ratings section.

Whoever I get partnered with wins the contest and will win a 5x7 envelope that contained 7 pieces of Halloween flat goodies!

I will assign partners tomorrow evening.

Be sure to check out the public version of this swap posted in the newest swaps column to your left of your screen

Thanks to all of you for being so wonderful and for sharing your creativity with all of us!

First seven years on swap bot that’s amazing!

I found swap bot through my pen pal Tracy from Texas she found me on sendsomething.net and she mentioned swapbot, I was so new (and still am) to pen pals and swaps I figured more sites the better.... now that I have found swap bot I use this more than any and have a blast doing it! I just hosted my first swap last night and I am so excited about it and can’t wait to make more and maybe one day I’ll get to make a seven year swap!!!

I had belonged to a small ATC club, where you sent a hand drawn ATC to all members that signed up that month. I'm not a very good "hand drawer", so I became discouraged after about a year. I did a search for "art swaps". When I read about SwapBot, I was hooked. I get to pick & choose the kind of projects that I want to be challenged by. I love being here. I'll never go back to the life before SwapBot.

Since I discovered Swapbot in 2009. I have been in different groups and learned so many different crafts and art. I love to be challenged by. I have made friends from those groups. Even there are bad times with those crazy people but I still have other more friends to be supportive and comforting.

Congrats on your anniversary!

Two years ago, while carrying a load of laundry, I fell down our steps. I had a large head wound that ended up causing a traumatic brain injury. Everything in my life changed. After 20 years of teaching art, I had to quit my job. Most of the time, I was stuck at drs appointments or physical therapy. I’d pretty much lost my connection to the outside world as well as my creative outlet, when I found a pen pal site. My new pen pal told me about Swap-bot and BOOM I was in love! It’s so much fun to find my mailbox stuffed with happy mail. However, above the awesome swaps and artwork, I’ve met so many kind, wonderful people who brighten my days and make me smile. I don’t think many of them realize what a very special part of my recovery they’ve been!

On Instagram I followed several of the penpal tags. I hadn't been brave enough to join in and actually find a penpal. Mental health can be rough. So I had been following them for a while maybe over a year? I kept seeing the tag swapbot which seemed like a familiar name. So I searched it and realized I had stumbled across swapbot awhile back when I found post crossing. It had seemed to be a little intimidating so I never joined.

For the past year I've been working on fighting my mental health and getting out of my shell. So I finally took the plunge and joined Swapbot. Y'all are so amazing and friendly. I wish I had joined sooner. It's definitely been something to help me through my days and not worry as much. I have anxiety about sending things but seeing the 5s gives me a bit of a confidence boost.

Congratulations on 7 years!! May you have 7 more on top of that. ❤

Congtrats on 7 years!!! I joined Swap-bot back in April of 2014 with my friend Laura- we are both scrapbookers and very much into memory keeping and our planners as well. She is a mail-art artist and loved to make and decorate all of her envelopes for each swap. Sadly I am not so artsy in that area!! LOL

For me Swap-Bot is a little escape into the creative realm! I love to prepare swaps, create and host swaps as well! Meeting so many nice and creative people over the years has been a blast and I hope this community continues to thrive!! HAPPY SWAPPING, EVERYONE!!

Congratulations for 7 years on Swap-Bot! I joined on 9/14/2013 (so I'm closing in on my 6th anniversary).

To be honest, I cannot remember how I first learned of Swap-bot. I think it had to do with someone, somewhere, mentioning ATCs. I think it was a facebook crafting group?? Something like that, I believe.

I love Swap-Bot! I've learned so much and made new friends. I've stretch my creative mind, going outside of the box. It's a pleasure and has been one of my favorite hobbies the past six years! Thanks for this awesome swap!

I first heard of Swap-bot from an art friend I was trading with in another small ATC group. I was intrigued because she had mentioned an art project & I went and immediately looked it up! The rest is history :) While ATC's were my first introduction to "pen pal" or mail art ~ I really enjoy the different types of art swap challenges on Swap-bot.

Congratulations on seven years!

I am still a swap-bot newbie, not even a year here but I love it so much already. I used to do pocket letters, but I had been looking for more and stumbled on swap-bot after searching online for exchange groups that weren't facebook based. I figured I'd join in and proceeded to read over as much as I could before I started dipping into swaps and now I'm thrilled to be a member of some amazing groups and having the chance to swap with such wonderful people all over the world!

Happy 7 years! I like a lot of people above, I was also in another ATC group first. The group was named "nervousness", and eventually closed. I spent some time on ATCards, but I didn't like the setup of the website, and there weren't very many swaps to join, or as many groups and themes. I think I found this site via a web search for other ATC trading groups, but ended up trading everything else besides ATCs. Lol

Why autocorrect... should be "Like a lot of people".... not "I like" XD

PrettyAlice 08/23/2019 #

I first started swapping on Facebook groups and found there were a lot of people that flakes repeatedly but were never banned from the groups or anything. So one of my pen pal friends told me about Swap Bot and I decided to join back in 2015. I wanted to join because I liked the variety of swaps offered, the ability to hold your own swaps, and the rating system. I was wanting to find logger people who also enjoy snail mail to swap with. I’ve had a lot of fun on this site!

I had started swapping with some other bloggers, and was on the lookout for some fun new swaps to join. Not sure how I came across swap-bot, but in 2008 I joined in the swapping fun. Have had so many wonderful swaps on here. After a few years hiatus, I am back and swapping for my all-time favorite Halloween projects. Happy Anniversary!

7 years of craftiness & connections! Yay!
Back in 2008, my daughter was a baby. While nursing, I would browse the internet. As a stay at home mom, I was so desperate for adult interaction. I looked up pen pals, because I always wanted one as a kid. I guess Swap-bot came up & I was so excited! I swapped for a short time until life happened. I forgot all about it for over 10 years. Recently, my empty mailbox or box full of only bills & junk depressed me. I searched for happy mail on the web & something lead me to Swap-bot. Here I am, sleepless with paint under my nails! 😄👩🏻‍🎨

It has only been about 5 years for me. I joined after reading about Swap Bot on one of my Postcrossings partner's profile. I love the variety of swaps I can find on here. Swap Bot has inspired many new creations and years of fun and friendship.

June 28th was my 2 year anniversary. It feels like I have been here for years. I met someone and in passing conversation I mentioned how I loved postcards and she said she was in a group called Swapbot. I had never heard of ATC’s or Memorydex cards. I had some gel pens, postcards, and a plethora of scrapbooking supplies catching dust. I joined a few newbie swaps and then soon it was plainly obvious that I HAD to keep swap records and learn to govern myself better. I was HOOKED!😍🤩 I have made several friends and really appreciate the time, energy, expense that my partners put into something for me. ❤️ Thank you

Congratulations on your anniversary. I joined swapbot because I had no family and my boyfriends family just wanted to give presents to the kids in the family and we are the only ones without kids and I got really depressed not getting any presents under the tree to open. To find others to swap with who I could send presents to and get presents from meant the world to me. Most years the swaps I participate in are the only surprises I get to open. Last year I didn't even get a single Christmas card from friends and family. Swapbot keeps the holidays alive for me.

Happy swap-bot anniversary! I learned of swap-bot from the old mail art swapping site Nervousness. Remember making my first ATCs. I remember my first swaps here, back before we had hearts and star ratings. Mail art and package swaps have been a fun and relaxing hobby for many years. Sending and receiving creative surprises, tea and trinkets has been so much fun!

Yay! I found swapbot by chance through google search. I had been swapping online via yahoo groups for a few years by then but hadn't found it to be active (or safe) enough. My biggest draw here was the rating system since I had been flaked on soooooo many times before.

Had I never found swapbot, I would have never gotten into "paper". I would still only be playing with fabric right now. lol!

Congrats on 7 years ! I have been on swapbot for 2 years and I have been loving it ! I joined swapbot because nothing is better than exchanging items I create on here. I also enjoy talking to others that are local and international about my interests.
