This will be an ongoing series. Each swap I will post a different challenge pertaining to poetry. All poetry must be new poetry that you, yourself create. You don't have to be an expert, I'm certainly not, you just have to try your best. For this swap, the challenge is: 1 - Write a 12 line rhyming poem. The rhyme scheme is up to you (ABAB, etc.) 2 - Your poem must include 2 examples of onomatopoeia. An onomatopoeia is a word that phonetically imitates, resembles or suggests the source of the sound that it describes. Onomatopoeia (as an uncountable noun) refers to the property of such words. Common occurrences of onomatopoeias include animal noises such as "oink", "meow", "roar" or "chirp". Other examples: buzz, clink, tick tock, etc. 3 - Your poem must include 2 examples of simile. Simile is comparing two things using "like" or "as". Examples: He was as hungry as a lion. Sting like a bee. |
