Description:

Have you ever made your own stickers? It's easy and fun! For this swap, make 12 stickers for your two partners. Below are the deets.

  • Theme is sender's choice, but check your partners' profiles to make sure your subject isn't going to offend them. Some ideas are listed below.
  • Size can be anything larger than a quarter, or 1" but if you make mostly small ones, include more than 12. I think a variety might be nice.
  • Methods may include printing, stamping, drawing or painting on label paper or making your design and running it through a xyron or other sticker maker. There may be other ways I am unaware of, so please share in the comments if you have other ideas.
  • NOTE If you use label paper, please be sure you put your art on the face of the paper, not the backing. I once received some adorable mailing labels drawn on the backing, so needless to say they were unusable!

IDEAS:

Some people will jump right in as soon as they see the swap and have all sorts of creative ideas, others will want some suggestions so here are a few to jump off from.

  • gelli-print on round label paper to make colorful seals. This comes in all sorts of shapes from squares, rectangles and circles to half or full sheets, as well as shiny or flat finishes. Some are repositionable, most are permanent.
  • use your CatsLife stamps to make mail art stickers (if you haven't seen these, check out their website. They are awesome!) Of course you can use other stamps as well, either seasonal or whatever you think someone might enjoy using.
  • use spray inks to make colorful stickers. You can use stencils with these to make pretty designs, too.
  • cut up strips or punch shapes of your original art and put them through the xyron ...

For me, stickers are a great way to add instant color to mail, journal pages, letters, gifts, etc. I can't wait to see what you come up with!
