Description:

Hand Made Bento Bag

For this swap we will be making a bento bag. I made one years ago after coming across this tutorial Tamara Kate and have been using it as a lunch bag ever since.

I love how simple, yet useful this project is so I thought it would make for a fun swap! You can use fabrics in your stash, combine old & new, sew on patches & buttons, or even do some hand dyeing or fabric printing. I personally recommend using cotton, cotton blends, or linen for this project, but as long as it’s a relatively sturdy fabric it should hold up well!

Here are a few tutorials that layout of few different methods that I found useful:

Swap Details:

  • You will have 1 partner who you will send 1 profile inspired bento bag.

  • Keep in mind this is an international swap. Shipping shouldn't cost too much since this is a relatively flat & lightweight project, but I don't want folks to be surprised.

  • You can make either a lined or unlined bag, but make sure that your seams are cleanly finished/hemmed so the edges don’t fray.

  • Use at least 2 different colored/patterned fabrics. You may also add little patches, block print, rubber stamp, or stencil designs with fabric paint, or do some hand dyeing. Make it something you are proud of and that your partner will love to use.

  • Communication is key – if you are having issues please let me know. If you need to send late to your partner let them know as soon as possible.

  • I will angel this swap if needed after you have rated your partner a 1.

If you have any questions don't hesitate to send me a private message or drop a comment below. :)

Happy Stitchin'!
