Description:

National Letter Writing Day is December 7th (Saturday). So, let's write some letters! If you would like a little more info about this holiday, just click the link above.

For this swap, you will have 2 partners (if enough sign up) and you will write each partner one letter. The letter can be hand written or typed, you can use stationery or plain paper - it doesn't matter. But each letter must be individual - you can't type one letter and send it to both of partners - and you need to look at your partner's profile to comment on something. The rest of the letter can be an intro, or about your day, what you think of this swap, or the hosts 'crazy' requirements. Because they will get silly. Just keep reading!

The letter should be 2 pages - 2 sheets or 1 sheet front and back - of about 5x8" size. If there's a lot of decoration on the page, you need to write more. Because -

THIS swap is ALL about the LETTER!

That means - NO TUCK INS with the letter. Yes, really. As a requirement of this swap, you are not allowed to send tuck ins. This swap is ALLLLLL about what you write and the art of letter writing.

And, the letters need to be dated - and you need to write the letter ON Dec 7th. So this is a quick turn around swap - partners assigned on Dec 6th, letter written on Dec 7th, and mailed no later than Dec 9th (because the 8th is a Sunday, and I'm being kind.) So, if you can't sit down and write 2 letters on Saturday, don't sign up for the swap.

You are not required to reply to your letter. But you are required to rate your partner when your letter arrives. If you wish to continue to write to your partner, please message them and arrange that, but it is up to both of you. This is a celebration of letter writing, not a pen pal match up.

Now, who can join. New swappers are allowed in the swap with a very well filled out profile since your partner needs to comment on at least one point of your profile. The more info you give your partner, the more they'll have to connect with. What is a very well filled out profile? You should have several sections of things about you, your likes and dislikes, collections, interests, etc .... You don't have to give all your life's details, but you can paint a picture of yourself with words on your profile.

All swappers need to be current on your swaps - no late sends on your dash! Any 1's or 3's need to be made up to the best of your ability, and if you have any 1's or 3's w/in the last year, it's probably a good idea to PM me ahead of time and explain. All swappers need to have very well filled out profiles.

I will check through profiles before assigning partners, and I will ban anyone I think may be a problem. I may contact you ahead of time, but I don't always, though i do try to leave a comment. If you know of any problem swappers or double profilers, please send me a PM with the information and I will take it into consideration. But please do not leave a comment below as I may not see it as quickly.

I will angel if you are flaked on, but we won't have any flakers, right? :) If you have issues with the letter you receive or if you don't receive a letter, please contact me and I will angel after you have left the appropriate rating.

For new swappers - partners will be assigned on Dec 6th, by noon (I'm in the Pacific time zone). You should receive an email from swap-bot when partners have been assigned, and directing you to come back to the swap to find your partners. To find your partner, look on the right side of the swap description and you will see 'see who your partners are' (or something like that) and a new window will pop up. When you drop your letter in the mail, please click that you have marked it sent. Swap-bot assigns partners, I do not have any control over who you are paired up with. Once the swap sign up ends, I just check over the list again, and click a button and the computer bits and bops assign partners. It's like magic. :)

If you have any questions Please PM me rather than leaving a comment below, as I may not see it until partners are assigned. Admittedly, I forget to check comments until the end.

I'm signing up for both these National letter Writing Day swaps because I love writing and love receiving letters -- in a way, most especially from other countries.

So basically you can write about anything?

InTheWoods 12/ 6/2019 #

I thought it was supposed to have 2 partners

InTheWoods..I saw that..maybe not enough signed up....I'll just start on my letter to my one...

@InTheWoods - I just saw your comment - yes, there were supposed to be 2 partners, but swapbot only assigned one. I'm not sure why, as it showed 2 partners when I clicked the button. I reported it to admin - it's happened a few times this year, maybe a glitch? I did send out an email to all who signed up explaining that.

I see my partner sent on Dec 8 from Canada to me in the US. I have not received yet but am patiently waiting.
