What is National US Postage Stamp Day? On July 1, National U.S. Postage Stamp Day recognizes the ease and simplicity with which we can send and receive mail. A stamp represents payment for the delivery of a letter or a package. The United States issued its first postage stamp on July 1, 1847. At that time, stamps were not required. A letter could be mailed without a stamp and delivery paid for by the recipient. In 1855, the postage stamp became mandatory. The Swap Fill the inside of a folded note card, handmade or store bought, with notes from your day. For example: What did you do? How did you feel when you wrote this? What's going on in your life? What are you cooking for dinner? Sender's choice regarding what you write. Mail it off with a fun postage stamp of your choosing. No metered mail please. I reserve the right to review profiles and remove any swapper I believe may cause drama during the swap. I will angel if needed, after you rate your partner a 1 and inform me. |
