Totebags are such an important part of my life, that I thought I would hostess yet another totebag swap, but with a twist. Use those leftover bits of yarn, string, or even old sweaters and make your partner a totebag of some sort. It can be as small as a bento/lunch bag (approximately 9 inches square) or as large as you wish to make it. I leave that up to you. It can be crochet, knitted, felted, braided, or fibers stitched together. EDITED: It would be nice if the bag didn't look too polished (i.e. purchased off the rack at a chain store) but instead looked very much handmade, and you can tell that you recycled some fibers. For example, if crochetting, using leftover yarns, they don't necessarily have to match, nor do they have to be in even rows of colour. The point of this swap is to make something from leftovers, or bits that would ordinarily be thrown away. So if you'd like to stitch together little bits of fabric cut away from other projects, that would be great too! Or if you know how to fuse threads that are left over from sewing projects into a sheet of new fabric, and you'd like to make a tote from that, go right ahead! =^_^= And please post pictures if you are able! I'd love to see everyone's creations! You will only have one partner, and please be sure to check your partner's profile for allergies, etc. (for instance, I'm allergic to wool) Participants MUST have a 4.5 or higher AND have no 1 ratings within last 3 months of sign up date. I WILL be checking profiles. Remember, REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE! :) If you have any questions, feel free to pm me directly. |
