This is another chance for newbies and oldies alike to do a super fun swap for almost no expense and boost ratings!

What is a decorated envelope you ask?? Good question!! For the purposes of this swap here are the guidelines. Any size envelope. Decorate the outside back and at least a portion of the front with the theme of winter, snowmen or snow. How to decorate?? You may paint, draw, stamp, glue on pictures you have cut out, embellish, etc. You can use stickers IF they are incorporated into a bigger idea. (Please no envies with just a few stickers stuck on) To give you an idea what I mean you could use stickers incorporated into a drawing or even just stickers if they make a scene. But the idea here is to make an envelope that the postman takes a second look at. Something really nice and rather elaborate. Please remember if you do something to your envelope that will make it get torn up in the canceling machine, you need to add extra postage and write HAND CANCEL on the front. The cost is an extra 20 cents in the US even if you are mailing to another country.

Inside the envelope put in any of the following: a card(handmade or store bought), a poem with a winter theme, related epherema, a recipe that will warm your partner up, anything theme related. Something that will bring a smile to your partner's face and warm fuzzy to her heart

This could potentially be as inexpensive as the postage so we will do International.

No one with a 1 or 3 in the last three months. Newbies welcome, please fill in your profile. Please NO FLAKERS ~ how hard is it to draw on an envelope??

The turn around will be short so please start decorating your envelope now so you have time to make it nice. The goal is to make your partner's mailbox feel like it is holding a treasure of inspiration!!!

Let's have some fun!!!!!!!

Thank you for organizing a "newbie" swap. Brand new to this, so this should be fun!

Viqui 01/27/2009 #

Woho! Ok, I'm very excited! This is my very first one ^_^

ohiowiner 01/27/2009 #

I'm with MP. I Googled "epherema" and I'm still lost.

ThaJulia 01/28/2009 #

I think she meant to say EPHEMERA ... which is something useful and short lived (snowman)

pursehappygal 01/28/2009 #

Also googled the definition of ephmera. Another definition according to Webster's is any papergoods that is used for a short time, and meant to be discarded;but has since over time become collectable (posters, billboard adverts, tickets).

Ok so last night I played around with doing one to get me going. Do I have to send this envelope alone in the mail or can I put the created envelope in a bigger envelope? It looks to pretty to put in the mail! LOL

pursehappygal 01/29/2009 #

I was wondering about that myself too. Is that OK?

MissPrincess 01/30/2009 #

Sorry, please remove me, didn't realize this was international. It just cost me $15.00 to ship a book to someone in the United Kingdom for a swap! Too much to do that!

You can remove yourself, just drop the swap. BUT sending an envie overseas is MUCH cheaper then sending a book.

What a great swap idea, it sounds like so much fun! Thanks :)
