Description:

I've been looking through journal swaps and most are so specific, I figured I'd create one that's pretty open.

Task is simple. One partner, one journal. Something like a composition book should do fine but let's make it at least 50 pages.

Fill the journal with poems, thoughts, something you learned, a movie or book review, a story, pictures, etc. Make it fun, make it about you.

Journal should be decorated to fit you. Stickers, cut outs, fabrics, whatever you want!

Since it is at least 50 pages filled out, I'll give some time to send it out but this is something you can start right now! The purpose is to hopefully make a new friend and open others eyes to other thoughts, art, words, etc.

For hearts, look at your partner's profile and maybe send a small gift or how about a blank journal for them to use and send it back to you? That would be neat. Or how about sending a mixed CD of songs and lyric you may write in the journal?

No no-sends within last 6 months unless you can message me and tell me why its an unfair rating. 4.8 rating or better. I'm sorry to make this strict but it is a hard working swap. Newbies are welcome to join with well filled out profile but if I see something fishy, I have the right to ban.

Due to the length of time, I cannot angel this swap but if you get flaked on, I will send you a journal for you to use at a later date and some extras.

ahh if this was USA only I'd join... but i just spent $55 at the post office yesterday to mail a couple packages outside of the states.

Urbanalbino 01/29/2009 #

Adding to my watchlist!

zerofantasies 01/29/2009 #

Rubyfreckles - thats expensive for shipping!! Last time I shipped something international journal size was like 5 bucks so I figured it'd be okay. If this goes well, I'll open a US only unless you feel you can spare it by April =)

AngelGurl 02/ 3/2009 #

oh count me in, I live in New Zealand and given thats its only 50 pages I dare say this will be okay $$ wise to send off. Come on Ruby join in.....you know ya wana lol. I love the swap!!

I'll watch for the US only version! Would be cool if it were in the summer, when I'm done with spring semester.... :)

Anything bigger than a standard bank envelope (22x11cm or 4.33x8.66") is VERY expensive to send airmail from South Africa. How big is a composition book page? Is it A4? I really, really LIKE this idea! I'll watch this swap.

Lucide 02/12/2009 #

sounds cool!, it is on my watchlist. And what is a composition book exactly?

zerofantasies 02/14/2009 #

Composition is slightly smaller than your average printer paper. Think of like a notebook you used to carry to school =)

coolcamaro 02/14/2009 #

do we have to use a composition book or notebook? could I use an actual journal so long as it has at least 50 pages?

zerofantasies 02/19/2009 #

coolcamaro, feel free to use anything journal or notebook. I only mentioned as a recommendation and to get an idea of size and such,.

I've been away from swapbot for a while due to life craziness, but.. I think this is the perfect swap to get me back into the swing of things again! Thanks for hosting this. :)

I'm in for the US-only one, and agree about it being after spring semester is over ;)

EJ1981 03/11/2009 #

Here in Australia, the smallest journal I could find has 48 pages - is this okay if I decorate the front and back cover also?

zerofantasies 03/14/2009 #

EJ1981, its up to your partner. Once assigned, I suggest you message and verify with them but I don't see why this would be a problem. However, the journal itself size needs to be at least 15cm by 22 cm. (give or take 1 cm)

Mine will be mailed out tomorrow.
